Each year the Santa Barbara International Film Festival brings together a dedicated team of volunteers to help ensure Festival patrons and guests have the best filmgoing experience possible. As a non-profit organization we are grateful for the considerable contributions made by our volunteers each and every year, and know that we could not present the Festival without their hard work and dedication.
Approximately 400 full and part-time volunteers will be needed for the 2008 Festival. All Festival events (films, panel discussions, special events, etc.), are run successfully by a team of volunteers. Volunteers form the backbone of the Film Festival, helping out in all areas, from ticket taking and theatre operations, to general office help, translation, technical operations and much more.
Volunteers may work long hours, ideally committing to several multiple-hour shifts throughout the 11 days of the Festival. In addition to the satisfaction of engaging in a major community event, volunteers will be rewarded with passes to see movies, including the Opening Night film at a volunteer-only special screening. Additionally each person will receive the 23rd Annual SBIFF volunteer shirt, and be invited to an ice cream social event. All volunteers making a part-time commitment of at least 15 hours, will be invited to our Closing Night wrap party.
